Many new construction workers do not know the correct way to transport and handle EPS Cement Sandwich Panel, which sometimes causes unnecessary panel damage before installation. When you understand the simple proper handling methods, you can keep the breakage rate below 1% even on busy, messy construction sites, saving a lot of extra material cost and construction delay.
When transporting EPS Cement Sandwich Panel on site, you should never drag the panel on the ground, because this will scratch and wear the cement facing layer on the bottom side. The correct way is for two workers to stand at both ends of the panel, lift it up horizontally, and carry it slowly to the target location. If you need to stack the panels temporarily on site, you must place them on a flat wooden pallet, not directly on the bare ground. The stacking height should not exceed 10 pieces, and you should put small wooden blocks between every 3 panels to keep them stable and avoid sliding. When you need to lift a panel to a higher floor, do not tie the steel rope directly on the middle part of the panel, this will cause the panel to bend and crack. You should use a wide soft sling that covers the whole panel bottom, and lift it slowly with even force. Before installation, store the panels in a dry, covered area, do not leave them exposed to heavy rain for more than 48 hours. Following these simple rules will make sure every single panel you get from the factory can be used perfectly on your wall, no waste at all.
